The Educational Research and Technology Centre sits within the Institute for Higher Education Research and Development (IHERD) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. It exists to do one thing well: hold theory and technology to each other's standards. The Agency Anchoring framework tells us what to build; RIDE-I tells us how to build it responsibly; the platforms tell us where the theory is wrong.

The Centre is directed by Prof. Xiangen Hu, Chair Professor of Learning Sciences and Technologies — co-developer of AutoTutor, co-author of the General Processing Tree model, and a scholar whose method joins Western learning science to the classical Chinese tradition of the unity of knowing and doing.

We welcome collaboration with researchers, institutions, funders, and doctoral students who want to work at this junction — where a position paper and a production deployment are the same project.
